"Tasting what I'm made of" is such an empowering statement for me. I am a huge fan of the group Rascal Flatts and have found their words to have new and profound meanings relating to my life. My family and I are traveling down a "Broken Road", and God has tested my abilities to encourage, stand up, be accountable, laugh, cry, move forward, be thankful, and ...taste what I'm made of!

Thankful
So busy, so little time, gone from sun up to sun down, working, cleaning, driving, cheering....and I am thankful for it all! If my world suddenly went from "hustle & bustle" to "turtle pace"....I think I would go nuts! Yes, most days I leave at 6am and do not get home until 8:23pm..haha... but when I crawl into my comfy bed and my body melts into my conformed mattress & soft sheets, I say my prayers and give thanks that I am so blessed! I have two beautiful children that I love with all my heart, I have a wonderful job with inspiring students, and fabulous co-workers, I have amazing friends and family that keep me laughing, let me cry, and know exactly what to say when I need it. So, when I feel like pulling my hair out, or feel a tantrum coming on, I take a deep breath and remember I wouldn't have it any other way!

Social Networking...UUUGGHHHH
Ok Ok, I know you are asking why so distraught over social networking?? I actually was on facebook for a brief period and really enjoyed it and yes..I even farmed! My whole family is on there from grandparent down to my daughter. It was really fun talking to them and sharing pictures and laughs. Then, when you are faced with a life changing experience, having all of your and your families business out there where people you used to trust and believe in could follow...well I bolted off for the sake of our privacy. At times I miss it. Especially the comments and giggles from friends and family. Yes, I know you can block certain people, but believe me there are friends of friends who in some way will have access to your site. So creating all of these new blogs, wiki's and orkuts have tested my nerves. But who knows, maybe I'll stay on this time...after all --those former relatives are realizing they have missed--

Tasting...a key word in my life
Cookies and Cupcakes are Tasty Treats...But Cooking with your Mom is Simply Sweet!
To help with the new found expenses of becoming a single mom, my mom and I started making cookies and cupcakes! Ok, really my mom works her tail off and I end up coming over for "the kill"...meaning she usually has everything ready to go and then I show up :>
She has researched and compiled notes, articles, recipes, websites, and stores for us to learn all about this new venture. We have learned a lot, and still have a ways to go, but we are having fun along the way! I have added a slide show to this blog of just a few of our designs...Yum

Project Freedom-Moms Helping Moms
What an awesome and uplifting day! Moms Helping Moms held the first event called Project Freedom for families in need at San Jacinto Elementary in Conroe I.S.D. Over 146 families were asked to come out and "shop" for clothing and shoes for all of their children. (roughly 500 children)
The racks were set up over-flowing with donated items eagerly awaiting the grateful families. Smiles poured from children who talked about what they were going to wear at school tomorrow. Prayer was offered to those who requested, and hugs were given to those who needed. I have been blessed to work for 3 years with Project Hope for Magnolia Parkway and Smith Elementaries and now with the generous outpouring of support from the communities, we were able to tackle on our 3rd school. We don't want to stop here!! Allowing families to come and pick out neccesities and sometimes gifts for their loved ones all for free, is such an awe-inspiring experience. Watching my pre-teen daughter today personal shop with moms of 4 or 5 children takes time, patience, and a lot of smiling. She was WONDERFUL!! I was so proud of her spirit, kindness, helpfulness, and overall attitude with such a private task. I love you doodle-bug you grew up before my eyes today!
If anyone is interested in learning more about the Moms Helping Moms-Texas ministry, I have posted a link to their website in My Favorites. Donations of all kinds are always greatly appreciated and welcomed. God bless all the volunteers and families that were helped today and may each of us thank Him for all we are able to do!

Web Cams and Computers are going to be the death of ME...
The Assignment for my class seemed easy enough. HA! 4 computers...2 webcams...and still an incomplete assignment! 2 Microsoft guys from across the world took over the reigns of my laptop to try and help me out...very creepy but cool! They spent 2 days trying to fix my download issues...nada!! My parents tried with their computers but no go! I cried (go figure), I stressed out, and couldn't believe my luck!! Well I finally decided there was nothing else to do but just upload what I had and deal. Kinda like what we tell our students...just turn in what you have! So here is my project...
